Categories for Threadfall Emits

Pre-fall

Pre-fall is the preparation that happens before the dragons depart to fight Thread. This is generally roleplayed in the Landing Field and the entire Weyr can be involved.

Ideas for emits: riders gathering in landing field, wings congregating, checking gear, checking that all riders are fit to fly, healers setting up supplies, healers collaborating with dragonhealers, residents helping (or trying to), weyrlings bagging firestone, firestone being fed to dragons, groundcrewers preparing, goldriders preparing, equipment needing to be replaced, last minute reports, Weyrleader's signal to mount, Weyrleader's signal to go aloft, dragons departing.

Sky

Sky emits take place in the sky wherever the Threadfall is being held. These happen at the same time as the ground emits, so these two categories need to be in synchronization.

Ideas for emits: dragons arriving from between, dragons waiting for Thread to arrive, Leading edge approaching, beginning of Threadfall, dragons attack Thread, injuries, Thread falling, Thread falling towards a specific dragon/wing, NPC poses, weather conditions, tired greens and blues switched with fresh replacements, weyrlings flying resupply, Thread winding down, Trailing edge approaching, end of 'fall.

Ground

Ground emits are for the groundcrew who are out during Threadfall, destroying any stray Threads with flamethrowers and agenothree sprayers. The groundcrew is usually comprised of Weyrfolk, and on occasion, riders who are unable to fly 'fall.

Ideas for emits: groundcrew watching for Thread, instructions from the Groundcrew Leader, NPC poses, firelizards helping, stray Threads falling, an injury, equipment malfunction, checking for/finding burrows, end of Threadfall.
